I think endurance is one of the most important virtue for anyone who does a martial art.

A dictionary definition of endurance is 'the ability to keep doing something difficult, unpleasant, or painful for a long time'. In sport science, it means the ability to continue an activity despite increasing physical or psychological stress. In <Zhongyong(中庸; the Doctrine of Mean)>, it is called 'Nengjiu(能久)', meaning the ability to do something for a long time.

Like I have already said in my first writing, it is difficult to acquire martial art in a short time. Some gifted few may be able to do so, but in general it is difficult.

The discussion over whether a certain martial art is superior to others is also meaningless. Regardless of one's choice of martial art, it takes a long time to fully understand the martial art. Sometimes beginners doubt the martial art itself. They come to the training expecting something special, and finds out there is nothing so special about it. Such people usually lack endurance. The thought of finding something special and mastering the art in a short time, is a mere fantasy.

"Unless you fly or shoot a palm blast, all martial arts are similar."

There are only the differences in the use of hands and feet. No martial art is ultimately superior to other martial arts. It is the 'person' that makes it special.

"Only those who has trained every day for a long time with much effort will find what lies beyond.

So endurance is one of the most important virtue in martial arts.

Martial artists who represented an ear all had strong endurance.

Training day by day, were they able to become the special one.
